China: Apple could be forced to halt its iPhone 6 sales for plagiarism

There are new troubles for Apple in China. The Apple brand could be banned for the sales of its iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus in the country.

What is in question?

The US giant is accused of violating the patent for the exterior design of the 100C, a smartphone for the Chinese company Shenzhen Baili, according to the websites of the Pekingese and national offices of intellectual property. While there are differences in the placement of the camera at the back in both phones, there is a similarity at the front.

The Apple brand has appealed the decision

"Apple must stop selling its two models of smartphones iPhone 6 and iPhone more," said the Office of Intellectual Property of Peking in a statement dated May 19, published on its official website.

However, Apple does not hear it that way and said Friday night that they will appeal the decision. "Accordingly, the order (stop of sales) has been suspended pending review by the Court of Intellectual Property in Beijing”, said a spokesman for Apple AFP.

The models still on sale

"The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus models, like the iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus and iPhone OS are always available for sale in China today," added the representative of the group.

China is a crucial market for Apple and its products are very popular, but the brand has already experienced several setbacks in the country. In early May, a Chinese leather goods company that sold "iPhone" bags had won the case against the Apple brand. The court held that it had filed its brand in China before the arrival of smartphones of the same name.

We might think that the caliber Apple brings to the world might speaks of its uniqueness and unequaled upholding of elegance and quality, there are still small companies that can challenge them. However, we cannot discount the fact that the exterior of 100C, especially the front, has some resemblance with the iPhone 6. The latter has different specs and credibility though.
